On April 11, 2005, Mark Beason, LA alumni and writer of the Northeast Mississippi Journal, came to present an inspirational and empowering speech to the students of Leake Academy; however, his forty-five minute speech did not end there. Mr. Beason visited several classrooms, and students were given the chance to ask him questions about college, careers, and decisions.
