May Day 2006

Thursday, May 3, the elementary classes celebrated the fourth annual May Day at LA.

The festivities began at 12:30 with a program in the gym featuring the k-4 through 4th grade classes.  The program was entitled Today Is the Day!

The fun continued as each class made its way to the football field and entered the stadium with flags representing each class.  Mr. Crowe and the coaching staff were in charge of all the events--relays, 40-yard dashes, 100-yard dashes, and others.  The homerooms were divided into two teams:  red and blue.  Points were given to the first, second and third place winners in each catagory.  The points were tabulated by the math teachers, Mr. and Mrs. Turner.  At the end of May Day, the blue team rooms were the champions!

The concession stand was manned by the LA Alumni Association.  All proceeds went to the funding of the Joe F. ShepardMemorial Scholarship.
