Leake Academy

Elementary

Elementary school is the beginning phase of your child's journey. And as in all things, you desire your child to have the best. Leake Academy offers an excellent environment, in a small family-like atmosphere, where discipline is a priority. Children come to learn and are expected to behave. Leake Academy is a Christian school that encourages prayer and devotions.

Grades K-6 are taught from the A Beka curriculum which includes science books entitled Understanding God's World and spelling words like baptize and commandment. Scriptures can be found throughout your child's text books encouraging them to grow spiritually as well as mentally.

We live in a society that constantly bombards our children with negative influences. The intent often seems to destroy our most  precious resource--our children. How comforting it will be for you to know that each day your child is being taught principles and values that will help them through their journey of life. Now is the time to invest in your child's future. Come join the Leake Academy family and watch your child flourish.

Mr. Jerry H. Crowe: Headmaster

I was born December 31, 1945, in Shaw, Mississippi.  I graduated from Benoit High School in 1964, went to Mississippi State University  then graduated with a BSE from Delta State in l968.  My Masters Degree was also earned from DSU in 1976.  My wife Peggy is a curriculum coordinator with the Tribal Schools.  God has blessed us with four great children and six grandchildren.

Mr. Richard Boykin:  Elementary Principal

I am very excited to return to Leake Academy.  Since my previous employment as band director, I have experienced major changes in my career.

I completed an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership at Mississippi State in 1999. I have worked with the Neshoba County School District in various educational capacities, ranging from assistant principal at the elementary level to the administrator of the ELL and Bilingual Education Program. After five years of administrative service with Neshoba County, my career path was directed to Leake County. In 2004, I was hired as the principal of Carthage Elementary  School. I worked in this capacity for two years where I was supported by a strong network of district administrators and a very collaborative team of teachers.

I know these career experiences have better prepared me for the position of Elementary Principal at Leake Academy. I look forward to the development of a professional, progressive, and fun educational experience for all of us in the years to come.
